The Original Quilt

This is the quilt that launched Poplar Point. A rugged, reliable companion made to handle the unexpected. Each one is handcrafted in our Nashville shop using premium performance materials and a process that blends heritage techniques with modern durability.

Made in the shop to be used in the field, this piece reflects everything Poplar Point stands for:

Each quilt is made using multi-layered construction that balances warmth, durability, and packability. Reinforced stitching throughout ensures strength where it matters most.
The top layer is 1000D Cordura®—a water-resistant, abrasion-resistant fabric trusted in tactical and outdoor applications. Beneath it, we use a layer of high-loft batting for lightweight insulation and warmth retention. The interior is lined with soft, breathable Polartec® fleece, offering serious comfort whether you're by the fire, on a mission, or on the sidelines.

We load all three layers into Betsy, the name of our longarm quilting machine, and let her get to work—stitching the layers together with precision and strength. Once quilted, each blanket is trimmed to size (approx. 60” x 72”), bound by hand, and finished with reinforced edge binding, utility loops, and signature Poplar Point tags.
